The latest Mac update, Catalina has garnered much attention as it brings some major changes to Mac platform.
Reported to be released in September after the launch of iPhone 11 on September 10, MacOS Catalina update promises several new features including enhanced functionality, apps and more.
While these new features are welcome, the update is also getting rid of nearly 235 apps, which are 32 bit apps that have not changed over to 64 bit format. Let us look at what the new OS has to offer for users.

The biggest change is with iTunes which has several issues most important of them being overloaded with features and poor organization. Apple has turned iTunes into Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple Podcasts – three individual apps.
The apps come under Project Catalyst of Apple that allows them to run seamlessly on Mac, iPad, and iPhone without having to recode or redesign them extensively.
Device syncing can be a problem with the split up of iTunes as the feature does not fit with any of the newly formed apps. To deal with this issue the syncing has been switched to Finder sidebar, which is good for those who own iPad and Mac.
As for the Apple Podcast app, it lacks special playback features you find in Overcast and the management features that are great in Castro. In short, it is pretty basic except perhaps for the search function that is powered by machine learning feature.
And Apple TV is not far behind with its drawbacks. The designing seems to be a work in progress with just a couple of rows showing films or shows and nothing else.
It has tabs on the screen top, instead of the sidebar location present in the podcast and music apps. For searching genres, you should go to the end of the sections.
However, the individual film and shows pages are a bit better. They have blurbs, list of episodes and large banners and cast lists. But the main page needs to be more organized.
The sidecar feature allows you to control your Mac with your iPad.
It also enables you to mark up or draw with your iPad on Mac documents using Apple Pencil.
And it allows you to use your iPad as the second Mac screen. You can easily sync the two, and drag and drop a window from Mac to iPad.
Auto Dark Mode
This Auto feature lets you opt for dark or light mode based on the given time of a day.
This feature reduces the hassle when you want to change the lighting if the lights are out.
The new feature in the photos app includes organizing photos in tiles of different sizes, hiding clutter in the library and allowing just the best photos to be displayed with the help of machine learning.
You can browse the pictures by the year, month and day.
Browse Efficiently With Safari
The new update has made browsing more efficient. Siri suggestions including reading list links, bookmarks, icloud messages and more will be shown in the home screen.
The above listed are a few of the important feature changes.
